This is an antique British Bulldog single and double action revolver chambered in .44 Webley CF, made in Belgium pre-1893. The British Bulldog was based on the famous Webley No. 2 Bulldog which became very popular in the late 1800s as a small and concealable but powerful revolver great for self defense. Ammo can be loaded to shoot in this gun with slightly modified .44 SPL, MAG, or .44 Russian cases. I have some black powder loaded .44 Russian rounds I could part with - all you need to do is slightly file the case mouth diameter to allow it to fit the taper of the cylinder (I use a belt sander or hand file). I can also refer you to sources for buying antique load .44 Webley/Russian. As a pre-1898 revolver, this handgun can be bought by anyone over the age of 18 with no PAL or registration requirements, and generally carried and fired anywhere a nonrestricted is acceptable. Antiques are the only handguns that can still be bought and used in Canada.

This revolver is in good condition, with all components of the action, hammer, and ejector working in single and double action. The hammer has a strong mainspring with all three positions (forward, half cock, and full cock) although the half cock may slip but full cock is solid. The rifling is still visible in the 2.5" barrel. The cylinder is clean and cycles consistently, but has a wiggle of about 1/16" when firing. This is a result of the cylinder hand being slightly worn, and can be resolved with a very minor expansion of the hand by a gunsmith or metalworker to ensure the cylinder indexes fully and tightly.

Visuals are fair on this revolver, with about 65% of original nickel remaining and effectively no dents, scratches, or significant pitting. The barrel reads "BRITISH / BULLDOG". The original hardwood grips are in very nice condition, with rich grain and no major scratches or cracks. The cylinder has a cartouche "S" as well as pre-1893 Belgian Liege proof mark definitively dating this gun to be antique.
