Remington New Model Army in 44 Percussion Caliber. 8" barrel, 6 shot. These Remingtons were used extensively throughout the American Civil War as well as the plains wars and westward expansion, these are very tangible pieces of history! This SN 90XXX likely dates it to mid Civil War Era production. The action on this revolver functions excellent. Half and full cock work great. Timing and lockup are excellent as well. The cylinder nipples are in good shape and all are clear. The exterior has worn over time but shows well. The barrel address is quite worn and mostly gone. Bore and cylinder walls rate good for the age. The original grips have dents/dings, the original military inspector cartouche on the left grip is present but has a dent on it. The barrel currently can be manually threaded/loosened by hand, I've experienced this on other Remington Army models and am not sure why, the barrel threads are in great shape with no issue to threads. Antique status in Canada, no PAL required to purchase or own. Will include an RCMP FRT printout showing antique status in Canada. $2200 includes Free Shipping, insurance is extra if desired.
