Remington Sportsman 78 (Remington 700) 30-06 Bolt Action

NO TRADES. Original finish Remington Sportsman 78 in 30-06. This was an economy based Remington 700 in a hardwood stock with blind magazine aimed at competing with the Winchester model 70 Ranger. Built between 1978 and 82. Excellent bore and works A1 showing little use. Factory sights. Stock is in good shape with no cracks, a little bit of the original stock finish starting to flake. Comes with weaver scope bases and factory sights. 22 inch barrel. Bluing is very good with some finish wear on the bolt handle knob. Some gunsmiths say the tooling was freshly set up on these during production so the action tolerances are better in these than the factory 700’s which saw much more production numbers. Great for a USA made wood and steel hunting rifle built in the hood years, or custom build or what have you.
