Smith & Wesson number three single action American model in 44 Russian caliber. This revolver  has no original finish remaining. The entire revolver is a  brownish patina. The timing is good.

This is an antique Smith & Wesson Model 1-1/2 First Issue (a.k.a. Old Model 1-1/2). S&W produced over 26000 of these revolvers from 1865 to 1868. This is a single action revolver with a spur trigger.

Extremely rare Smith & Wesson No 3 chambered in 455 Eley with target sites and a 1-9/16 inch cylinder.
