Terms of Use
1. Any attempts, or if we suspect any attempts to defraud other members on the site, or any form of illegal activity(such as purchasing items you do not have a license for), or even attempts of such, your account will be blocked and any ads that you have will be removed.
(Note: Each member is allowed (1) account only. We will suspect fraud in cases where members are found with a secondary account.)
In some cases, we will even share any and all information that we have on such persons with law enforcement, and/or persons taking legal action against such persons, in cases pertaining to fraud, or in cases of members attempting to buy and sell firearms illegally, or any case of illegal activity.
We also reserve the right to question a member, and lay out conditions of verification, if we find activity to be suspicious. Non-compliance with verification requests may result in banning the member in question.
2. Only items that fit appropriately into the categories and sub-categories that we currently have laid out on the site are allowed to be posted on this site. (Eg. No minivans or video games, loan services, etc. Even if the ad does state that you are looking to trade for firearms.). If it is not firearm, archery, or hunting related, and does not fit appropriately into the categories and sub-categories that we currently have laid out, then do not post it on this site.
3. Profanities and insulting messages sent to other members through this site will NOT be tolerated. Your inquiries to other member's ads should only be to inquire about their ad with the intent to potentially make a purchase etc. Messaging members strictly to harass them about their price with no intent to buy, or other actions with no intent to buy, will be considered harassment, and will NOT be tolerated and may result in the blocking of your account if you participate in such behavior.
4. When posting an item to sell. Do NOT use images swiped from the internet. Only use images of the actual item that you have in your possession and are selling. You will likely be blocked and your ad removed from the site if your images are not authentic. This is just a precaution that we take to help keep our site clear of scammers. It also prevents people from posting things for sale that they do not have in their possession. As you must have the item in your possession if you are going to post it for sale.
5. Posting links to advertise other buy and sell sites is NOT permitted. Doing so will get you blocked from our site and your ad will be removed.
6. Member Ratings/Review section; You are only to post a review/rating on a seller or buyer that you have actually agreed on a deal with, or completed a transaction with, and the review must pertain only to that transaction. Basically, do not submit a negative review on someone when you were attempting to work out a deal and it fell through in one way or another. Only post a review if you have agreed on a deal, transferred funds, or delivered the product, whether by shipping or in person.
Also, you may only post one review per deal. The reason for this rule is that we tend to see when a seller gets a negative review, the seller will often put a negative review on the buyer, which is acceptable. However, at times there have been cases where the buyer then posts a 2nd review on that seller in retaliation of or rebuttal of the seller's review. Then a thread of reviews get posted back and forth. This is against our policy. Only one review each, per deal, is permitted.
Further info or description on this topic can also be found in our FAQ article "Someone gave me a bad review, can I have it removed?"
Another Important Note: Fake reviews(i.e. you create a secondary account to review yourself), will get you banned for life.
Do NOT be foolish and try to cheat our review system. We have even had some long term members with several legitimate reviews already who have been caught submitting fake reviews on themselves, and we have banned them for life.
7. For the sake of keeping deals fair and in proper order on the site, we have established the following guidelines for the proper etiquette in member dealings;
a) When you as a seller post an item with a fixed price, you are expected to honour that price. Getting multiple interested buyers and then deciding to raise your price is a bad practice. It will often get you negative reviews on your profile and thus earn you a bad reputation. However, if you do decide to take it off the site and repost it for more money later on, please wait 7 days to repost it with the higher price.
It is possible to find yourself in a spot where you accidentally posted something without realizing what you had, and feel that you need to delete it and post it at a higher price 7 days later. But if you do this, please make this a one-time-only type of mistake. [There will generally be grace for someone who finds themselves in this position a first time. But if this becomes a practice, and we have to deal with multiple complaints on you as a seller, we then look at banning the seller's account from the site.]
b) Once you have agreed on a deal, you are expected to stick to that agreement. That goes for the buyer and the seller.
The purpose of these guidelines are strictly to make a better experience for all site users, and maintain good dealings between members, and overall maintain a good reputation for the GunPost site.
Basically, stick to your agreements, or risk receiving a negative review. It is possible to find yourself in a spot where you missed some type of detail, such as the buyer not having realized that they thought the item had feature "x", and it actually had feature "y", or thought the person would ship, but then found out they wanted you to drive to pick it up etc. Or as the seller there was some similar misunderstanding. But if you do this, please make this a one time only type of mistake. [There will generally be grace for someone who finds themselves in this position a first time. But if this becomes a pattern, and we have to deal with multiple complaints on you as a seller or buyer, we then looking at banning the member's account from the site.]
8. We do not allow members to delete and re-post the same ad just for the sake of staying at the top of the list. If you would like to get back to the top of the list you must use the "Bump Up" function when you edit your ad. This also goes for renewing an old ad that is about to expire. You must use the "Bump Up" function when editing your ad rather than deleting and re-posting the same item.
Though we will allow members to make a whole new ad rather than use the "Bump Up" once they are in your "Expired Ads". You will get an email notification from the site once your ads have expired. In which case, you can still find them in your "Expired Ads" for 14 days. We obviously prefer that members use the "Bump Up" function even when visiting your ads in the "Expired Ads", but we will allow you to make new ads instead at that point if you wish.
9. Businesses who are posting their inventory on here, or for private individuals posting as agents for businesses. You MUST have a paid business level membership. No posting business inventory for your own store, or for another store with personal/private level membership plans.
This includes being a distributor for certain products and selling them on here.
10. GunPost administration reserves the right to ban any member from the site if the member has become a general nuisance to other members, or the GunPost admins themselves. 11. All members are expected to abide by all laws regarding the buying and selling of firearms, and other items on the site. Members caught disregarding any laws will be blocked from the site and their ads removed, and in some cases we will even report them to law enforcement.

12. No raffles allowed. There is no way for us, or buyers, to verify how many e-transfers were accepted, or if the raffle will be cheated in any other way. So for obvious safety reasons, no raffling off items.
13. All members engage in private dealings with other people on this site at their own risk. GunPost is not responsible for any loss of any kind that is a result of your own private dealings with other people using the site. We simply offer the advertising platform. Your private dealings with other people on this site are at your own risk and liability.
14. GunPost does have what we call "Quality Control" standards.
We do reserve the right to decline, or sometimes edit ads posted by members that do not meet level of quality or consistency in how the other ads are posted.
Some examples of ads that do not meet our quality control standards could include, but are not limited to the following:
- If more than one gun is put in a single ad, unless they are all the same manufacturer, model, caliber, price, or being sold as one lot and not separated.
- When multiple items are put in one post that should be posted in separate categories etc., unless they are being sold as one lot and not being separated.
- when incorrect fields are selected from the dropdown menus provided in the post an ad form.
- When the ad description is not clear enough to make known to the other members as to what is for sale.
