Please identify! Vintage single stack rifle magazine

What is this mag for???
Spent hours trying to identify this mag.

it has stamped into it “BCM 00”.

A 30-06 fits well. It is a single stack. 
 

Anyone? I assumed that since there are so  few single row magazines it would be easy to find, but I have not succeeded.
