ANTIQUE Mle French St. Etienne MAS 1874 (not 1873) Officer's Revolver Chambered for .455 Webley/.45 ACP from 11mm

With papers is this French Service 1874 "Officer's model" revolver. A rugged revolver good for bringing into bear country, on a hunting trip, or to the range. They were made for French military use by the St. Etienne Arms Manufacture (MAS) and chambered in the impressive 11mm French Ordnance for single and double action operation as upgrades for the 1873 model. This revolver could have seen action in all sorts of conflicts up through WW1, and these are a staple of any antique collection.  As a pre-1898 Antique, this can be owned without any licensing or registration.

Price includes rechambering from 11mm French to shoot both .455 Webley and .45 acp which are very accessible to reload for antiques. If you want it to stay in the original caliber, drop $250 off asking price.

This gun is mechanically fair, with all aspects functional. The action works in both single and double action. The rifling is strong with some spots of black powder spotting. The hammer retention screw appears to be a replacement or modified.

The surface shows evidence of 150 years on earth, as seen in picture. All writing still shows with matching serials, inspection marks, and the manufacture year 1877. The knurling is fair and checkered grips are intact though the left one has a slight wobble. Original lanyard ring present.
