HI guys
for sale is a Japanese Tanegashima made by Miroku of Japan, the same guys who makes Brownings guns.
these were made in a small batch for Dixie gun works years ago and have not been available years.
.50 smooth bore, snapping matchlock mechanism. 41.5" browned octagonal barrel.
the bore is mirror shiny with no pitting. the stock, which is Japanese Cherry, has small dents here and there, and a hairline surface crack in the wood just behind the barrel band. this crack is superficial and does not affect the gun or compromise the strength of the stock at all.
gun functions flawlessly.
also included is a copy of the extremely rare, long out of print "bible" on Japanese matchlocks, "Japanese Matchlocks, a story of the Tanegashima" by Shigeo Sugawa. 1st edition, signed by the author. they only printed the first edition in english, the rest were all in Japanese.
$2000 shipped, via Canada post expedited, insurance is on the buyer. can meet in person in Port Perry Ontario.
No trades of any kind.
all sales are final. thanks for looking guys.
