Browning Twelvette Double-Automatic Shotgun in the rarest colour, Autumn Brown.
Designed in the early 50's to compete with the high-end double-barrel upland guns of the era, this is one of the quickest shotguns ever made. It was designed to handle any power of 12Ga. 2-3/4" shells without requiring adjustment, has a cool ambidextrous safety and the ability to swap barrels in a matter of seconds. It is also one of the lightest double guns you'll find at 6 lbs. 14 oz.
If you know these shotguns, then you know what you're looking at here. It took me a long time to find one this pretty, and it's only the realities of life that cause me to put it up for sale.
Autumn brown is the rarest of the commercially available alloy receivers, and this example is really gorgeous. The metal and wood are in excellent condition, with very few handling/loading marks. The worst blemish being some wedding-ring marks on the bottom of the trigger guard, which I've captured in the photos.
The gun is perfectly clean inside and out, functions and fires flawlessly, and is a serious clay-buster. It's too pretty for me to carry it in the bush, but I've had great success grouse hunting with my steel-receiver Double-Auto.
Overall a very light and quick handling shotgun and an absolutely beautiful example of 1950's design and craftsmanship.
This one comes with the 29" fixed-full choke barrel in excellent condition, with the matte style ventilation along the top, and single brass bead sight.
I've also included photos of another 27" fixed-modified choke barrel in very nice condition, with the railroad style raised rib, and single brass bead sight which I can exchange, or include for a separate cost.
I'm asking $1600 for the Twelvette with matte-vent barrel, or $1800 with the railroad ribbed barrel, or $2000 for the whole set. Regardless of the option you choose I will include shipping anywhere in Canada.
Please feel free to message me with any questions or offers. I am happy to take more detailed photos if there is anything specific need to look at, but I'll give priority to the first "I'll take it."
