Selling my German drilling in a very rare and useful combination, 12-gauge (2 3/4") shotgun barrels over 6.5x55mm Swedish. Most of these classic German drillings are in 16-gauge or the rifle barrel is in some long-dead rimmed cartridge; 6.5x55 is a cartridge that is very easy to find over the counter at any range or gun shop, and is extremely versatile for hunting (small game up to and including moose). 12-gauge of course needs no explanation. This is the ideal hunter's gun - one light gun to carry with you on the trails, and all you need to shoot birds, or deer, or moose, or bear, whichever opportunity you come across.

The gun is in very good condition, action locks tight with no play whatsoever. Bores are in very good condition, no rust or pitting anywhere. Bluing has been scuffed away in some of the carry areas. Shoots like a charm, doubles occasionally as these old break-action guns often do. Front bead is steel and slightly raised (see pic), easily visible when mounting and pointing. If you want to mount an optic for the rifle barrel, the rib is drilled and tapped, ready for a rail and optic or a claw mount. Chokes are fixed, they seem the same - not sure exactly which but I believe both barrels are Imp.Cyl. Some scratches and scuffs, as the gun has been used and is over 60 years old, but still tight and solid (both the wood and steel).

Beautiful hand-engraved decorations on the box, lock, chambers, and trigger guard. Engraved "JP Sauer & Sohn", as well as "Suhl" on the box. Buttplate has "S-S-U" monogram (the 1911 Sauer&Sohn logo). Marked "Special Gewehrlaufstahl" on the barrels. Nitro-proof marks and chambering (NITRO-12/70MM; 6.5x55) are still visible, choke marks are no longer legible if they were printed on it.

If you have questions, don't hesitate to ask! I'll answer to the best of my knowledge. If you want more pictures or more specific pictures, ask and I'll send them.

I love this gun, it's a real working classic but I'm selling it for the same reason everyone else sells a gun - I don't shoot it enough or hunt enough, and have too many guns. It's time for it to find a new home with someone who will enjoy it more than I do. It's a classic drilling in great condition, a very rare and useful combination of calibers (only one I've ever seen in 6.5x55) so I am asking $2900 CAD. But I am open to offers (cash, no trades). Will ship at buyer's expense. PAL is a must. Hope someone will make some good memories with it this hunting season.
