Single-shot | 54 cal. muzzle loader | No PAL Required

This is an H. ASTON Model 1842 cavalry percussion pistol made in 1847. This has a barrel length of 8-1/2” and is a .54 caliber. There is some pitting at the rear of the barrel. The brass components have turned a pleasant yellow.

As a diversion from being a competitive pistol  shooter, I want to learn how to shoot a rifled musket. 

Exterior doesn’t need to be great, but I want one something with a really good bore.  A

The gun is in fair shape, but has been used and carried hunting in the woods. The bore as been treated well, always cleaned. The mechanicals parts are all excellent. I just don’t use it enough anymore.
