EXCEPTIONAL KATANA FOR SALE! Godai Hizen Masahiro (5-th generation)

Blades Swords

Katana made by the 5-th Generation of Masahiro working about 1750 (Edo Era).

Textbook rendering of what one would expect of a work of the smith and school with all the features of konuka hada, chu-suguha hamon, and hizen styles boshi.

It is signed “Hizen Kuni Masahiro”.

Cutting edge of 27.1 inches (70.1 cm).

Sword is mounted in shirasaya ("white scabbard" - a plain wooden Japanese sword consisting of a saya (scabbard) and tsuka (hilt), traditionally made of nurizaya wood).

Sword is accompanied with NTHK papers attesting to the validity of the work and signature, and rated 72 points!

This smith is listed in Fujishiro’s as chusaku.

Of course it's not a "cheap blade" but if you are looking for real quality katana,  most probably it's a half of real value.

I'll add for free 5 hard to find Nihonto books (must-have for Japanese blades collectors).

For the treasure like this I prefer the local sale, but I’m also prepared to ship at buyer's dimes.
