Model 1864 German Prussian Faschinenmesser Infantry NCO Short Sword. The spine has "W" with a crown, "72". The side of cross guard has unit marks "28. A. 4. 252.” Brass grip with nice patina. The blade is sharpened, some nicks, and a dark patina. Likely used right up to and including WW1.
