Type 81 - Auspicious Safety

Unsatisfied with the gritty 180-degree throw, awkward right-sided placement and folding stock interference of the safety on our Type 81 SE, we here at Weather Eye have created the new Auspicious Safety. We began by moving the switch to the left side of the rifle while reducing the angle of rotation to 90 degrees, allowing the shooter to select safe and fire without breaking their grip. Intentionally designed to be non-ambidextrous, side-folding rifles can return to having their stocks lie flat against the receiver, reducing overall width and preventing snags. For all other versions of the Type 81, the Auspicious Safety occupies the same basic footprint as the factory safety, ensuring compatibility with all models of the rifle, including underfolders. Markings for safe and fire are embossed on both ends of the component, so the current state of the rifle can be ascertained at all times. Designed and manufactured here in Canada, the Auspicious Safety is made of a single piece of 6061-T6 aluminum and given a durable anodized finish.
