Original USGI M1 Carbine Sling, Free Shipping

I have an original USGI M1 carbine (also issued for the M2, M3 and M3a1 carbines) sling for sale. The tropical M1 carbine sling (NSN: 1005-00-555-7152 ) or "seatbelt" sling as nicknamed by collectors was introduced in the late 60's/early 70's for the Vietnam war as a replacement for the WWII pattern of sling. It was found that the cotton material of the WWII pattern slings would quickly rot in a jungle environment, so a replacement sling was needed. The tropical sling retains most of the features of the previous generations with the same style of buckle design and D-tip ends, however it was constructed from a green nylon with brass hardware; which made for an extremely durable and moisture resistant sling. The sling itself is in NOS condition and fresh out of the original wrapper, but may have some slight surface oxidation/staining from sitting in storage. Colour may vary slightly.
