Howdy Gunpost. I'm selling a few of these rubber recoil pads that will fit on the Type 81. These are originally designed for the AK but will fit on the rifle versions of the Type 81 also. I don't think these will fit on the SR variant of the Type 81 or the LMG version because of the clubfoot stock.
SOLD OUT! Currently re-stocking.
These will definitely will work of the fixed stock Type 81's both the originals and the new 81M. They will work on both the original sidefolders and the new underfolders. These will also fit on an AK-100 series sheet metal sidefolder or a wooden AK-74 stock/AKM stocks.
These recoil pads work well to keep the stock from slipping around on your torso. They make shooting with an underfolder stock much more comfortable by keeping those two sharp corners from digging into your shoulder/chest. The pad adds about 1-1.5 inches to you length of pull which for someone of average height is a noticeable improvement. And mitigates recoil a bit. Not that 7.62x39 recoils that hard at all. The underfolder can still be folded and locked with the pad on but the magazine must be removed first.
Each pad comes with a strap for securing the stock to an underfolder or sidefolder. If you have a fixed stock rifle it simply slips on and is a friction fit. The slip on section remains empty when mounted to an underfolder stock and can be used for storage, a cleaning kit fits! To mount to an underfolder you slip the stock into the small grooves on the sides of the pad. This can be quite a tight fit! Using a lubricant to slide the pad on may be necessary or carving out amount a small amount of rubber at most. Another improvement is that you can rest the rifle on the rubber butt and it is much less likely to fall over!

The pads are located in Calgary AB, and can be picked up anytime. I am also able to ship nationwide on buyer's dime. I typically use flat rate boxes as they're almost always the cheapest method to ship things across the country. If you're in the AB,SK,MB region shipping regular mail will likely be cheapest $10-15. If you're outside of those areas i'll ship in a flat rate mailer box for $18.89. I will ship the same day you order as long as the post office isn't closed when I receive your order.
