Smith & Wesson was a little late to roll out a double action revolver with their first being produced in 1880 in .38 and the .44 starting production the following year. Smith & Wesson quickly dominated the double action scene with their more accurate ammunition and quick reload times due to the top break auto ejection.
John Wesley Hardin was said to be carrying a Smith & Wesson Double Action Revolver when he was shot from behind and killed in 1895.
This revolver would make a great addition to any Smith and Wesson collection.
