Offered here is an antique British Webley Mark I* six shot revolver with an uncut .455 Webley cylinder and a 4-inch barrel. Serial number "26402" is marked on the bottom of the frame forward of the trigger guard. The backstrap is marked "1.97 | 3.H / 38". 92% of a military arsenal refinish blue remains. The bore is very good overall, with little surface pitting . Extractor works perfectly. Mechanics are excellent with tight lock up .Two piece black checkered hard rubber factory grips are nice, with no chips or cracks. The mk1*star modification was done in 1897 to replace a fixed standing breech with a removable breech plate, and the revolver was likely arsenal refinished at that time. The majority of these revolvers were sent to the Navy, but more rare - is NOT a naval marked gun.
