This Remington 50 Caliber Rolling Block Pistol made in Ilion NY is in very good condition. The action is strong. It holds on both half cock and full cock. The bore has good rifling but there is some light roughness. The wood is in very good condition and has good color for the age of this pistol. The wood has minor scratches, dings and dents. The bottom of the butt has some scratches. There is a faint cartouche on the left handle. The metal retains a lot of original blue that has turned to a plumb patina especially on the barrel. The barrel has a freckled brown appearance.
The is a few very small scattered spots of corrosion on the frame. The right frame is stamped "F.C.W. for USN Ordnance Inspector Frank C.Warner. The Remington Patent is on the left frame.
