I've owned this gun for close to a decade now. Seems it's time someone can appreciate it.
All serial numbers matching. Lots of original bluing still present. Action still works. Rifling is still good. Serial numbers date the firearm to 1863. Right in the middle of the American civil war. Manufactured at Colt New York.
Serial number is 169146. Even though the cylinder is pretty worn on the surface the serial number is clearly visible. There is a good chance it saw combat but we will never know.
Full disclosure I collect Colts and only collect working specimens. This firearm was inspected by a Gunsmith, test fired multiple times, and inspected again to insure it is in working order. The gun passed with flying colors.
The gun is probably worth more at auction but I am curious to see what interest it has here. Thanks for you interest. If you have any questions please do not hesitate to ask.
