Excellent action. Strong springs, solid Lock up, indexing and timing. Serial numbers match on barrel, grip strap, cylinder, frame and trigger guard. Loading lever and wedge have no numbers but are original parts. Serial number makes it 1862 manufacture. There are inspection stamps, but none seem to be military.
The cylinder scene is mostly worn to smooth metal, patent stamp and serial are still visible. Scattered light freckling on the exterior without any deep pitting and a bore in fairly good condition with moderate black powder corrosion. All nipples are intact and undamaged.
I hate returns and I want buyers to be satisfied, so I don't misrepresent the condition of my guns. Apart from a replacement screw and the cosmetic blemishes of time and use, there is one safety notch between the nipples that will slip out if pushed. (See video). That is not a problem unless you mean to carry it in your belt during a zombie apocalypse, or in the chaos resultant from a liberal re-election. (Sorry, couldn't help myself).
It's always a good idea to get these old guns inspected before shooting, and more important still to know what you're doing, e.g. no smokeless powder. That said, in my opinion this one is a shooter.
