Belgian proof mark "British Bull-Dog", DA. 44 S&W Russian Center Fire 5 rounds Revolver This one is in excellent condition. The action is accurate, and the cylinder indexes and locks properly. The walnut grip is excellent and undamaged, with sharp checkering and an excellent fit.. The bore of the 2 3/8 inch barrel is very good, with sharp rifling. The gun is chambered for a .44 Russian cartridge, excellent overall. Sharp markings, pre-1893 Belgian proofs.
"British Bulldogs" were based on the very successful Webley Bulldogs, and were the European equivalent of the American compact pocket revolvers of the 1880's. Made by reputable makers, these small but powerful revolvers enjoyed tremendous popularity back in the day - and again today.
