German Reichsrevolver, 44 Russian

German Reichsrevolver Model 1883, manufactured by VCS CGH Arms Consortium in Suhl Germany. 4.5" barrel, 6 shot. Chambered in 11mm German Ordnance which is similar to the readily available 44 Russian caliber brass. Most use 44 Russian in these Reichsrevolvers and it works great. The action on this piece functions excellent. Half and full cock work well. Timing and lockup are good. All visible serial numbers match with the exception of the front sideplate screw. The safety lever screw is also non original, there's safety lever does toggle up and down as it should but the safety currently doesn't function to block the hammer, this isn't an issue as the reichsrevolver safety although good in theory is not practical and most never actually use it. The original grips show wear from use, left panel has a small piece missing, lanyard ring is intact. Backstrap has original German military unit markings which should make for interesting research. Bore and cylinder walls rate good with common wear. These Reichsrevolvers are very robust well built revolvers that fire a hard hitting 44 cal cartridge.
