Belgian Webley Copy in .455

A bit of an interesting one up for sale, this is a Belgian copy of an early variant of Webley, it borrows design ques from different models; the barrel latch is from a Webley Pryse, 6" barrel length from a Webley WG, and the general style is very Victorian. The grips especially are stunning, featuring a delicate floral pattern, and ornamental bird's head. Caliber is .455 Webley, Fiocchi brass is snug in the cylinder but does fit.

All of the mechanicals function as they should, albeit with a bit of slop, after all it's likely from the 1880s. Single and double action work properly, and the hammer rebounds as it should. The rifling is well defined, no major pitting or damage. The finish retains probably 50% of its original nickel plating, with the rest a dull plum patina.

Overall a very pretty display piece, or if you wanted to shoot it, I'd suggest having a qualified gunsmith look it over, as should be done with any antique.
