Functions as it should. With strong lockup and good indexing all three clicks are present on cocking. Brown patina throughout the gun. Cylinder scene still visible but tough to see through the patina.
Serial number puts production during the civil war. Serial numbers on the frame, barrel and wedge match and the numbers on the trigger guard and back strap match. Mismatch serial numbers are only off by one number, this was common during the civil was as parts were mismatch during cleaning. Could also be a factory error. Has military martial inspection initials on grip as well as several inspection letters on the gun.
Bore is good with rifling remaining however there is typical black powder pitting. Nipples are good condition with none broken or damaged. Left grip has considerable wear likely for a holster. Right grip has normal wear for the age.
A very cool piece that could have seen action during the civil war.
