This is a 1844 Yeomanry Carbine as used by British army units. It is a 65 calibre percussion carbine with a 20 inch barrel. As you can see it is complete with captive ram rod and saddle ring.They were built from the 1840's until the 1850 period. It is complete and unaltered. The carbine is a smooth bore and has all of the British proof marks of the day. It saw service, but by appearance and condition very little. the captive ram rod is fully functional and the barrel is not corroded.
