.577 Enfield Model 1861 Artillery carbine, made by Parker Hale.
This series (1853 3-band rifle,1858 2-band Infantry rifles, the 1863 Artillery 'musketoon' and the Whitworth Volunteer rifle) were made in the 1970s by Parker-Hale Ltd, who were granted permission to use the original dies and gauges held by the Crown. (this led to all sorts of drama when P-H didn't return the gauges and dies when they outsourced the manufacture to a firm in Italy!)
top of barrel marked "Parker- Hale LTD Birmingham England"
complete with the accessories offered when new by the manufacturer and complete with the original cardboard packaging - this is super rare!
Wool mop, phosphor-bronze bore brush, case-hardened Serjeant's combination tool, spare nipple, pack of flannelette 4x2 cleaning patches, Parker-Hale bullet mould with handles, brass powder measure, metal bottle of Young's Celebrated Black-Powder Solvent" (aka Rangoon oil) , new templates for making the 1855 pattern paper cartridges, the original advertising pamphlet and letter from the Canadian distributor(not in photo, but it's here in my bookcase somewhere...) I'll include 11 'apostles' (plastic carriers for pre-measured powder charges.
The metal work is near-mint, and the stock has only a couple of minor scratches.
I'm only selling this rare group because I have some urgent bills to pay - and although I'm HOPING for the price I listed I'm also open to offers.
