Lee-Enfield No. 4 Mk. 1* - DCRA 7.62 NATO Conversion No. 574
Action profile showing the Parker-Hale No. 5C ¼min, rear six hole eye piece aperture sight and original unconverted magazine. Made in 1945 at the Long Branch arsenal in Toronto. It was converted post war for the Dominion of Canada Rifle Association, a civilian marksmanship association which is still very active today. The arsenal conversions varied in scope, but all changed the caliber from .303 British to 7.62x51 NATO. This rifle was a basic conversion, changing the barrel and bolt, and adding a Parker-Hale sight. Everything else remained mostly original. There were less than 2000 of these conversions done. Serial numbers match. This rifle barrel was subsequently shortened in the quest for accuracy. Front sight needs work. Sling not included. but shipping is.
