Ross 1907E ‘Scotch Deer Stalker’

Up for sale is a very nice Ross 1907E factory sporting rifle, a ‘Scotch Deer Stalker’.

These rifles are quite rare in any condition, let alone as fine as this one. It displays beautifully!

Most SDS rifles had a checkered wood butt, so many of these rifles had heel or toe chips and were converted to rubber butt pads. This rifle was very tastefully done and aesthetically looks very sharp. The metal on this one was re blued beautifully and closely matches the factory finish. This rifle also had the Galilean ready front sight assembly on it. The rifle has been professionally refinished and rechecked, from one end to the other. Aesthetically it is near perfect.

The bore on this one is quite rough from being shot with corrosive ammunition. It may still shoot, but I have never shot it. It would also be a beautiful candidate for a rebore to 8mm/280 or something similar.

I’m looking for $1600 out of this one. If it was a full original in this condition it would carry a price nearly double that!
