One of a kind Hungarian Kucher experimental rifle in .22LR specimen #5

Designed by Jozsef Kucher Hungarian arms designer in the 1940's 1950s

Kucher was responsible for the Hungarian K1 submachine gun model that was adopted

in the post 2nd WW era. in Hungary. If you Google Kucher, there is some info about the K1.

Unfortunately for him, the fanatic communist postwar ruler, Matyas Rakosi was

extremely wary of civilian gun ownership, Kucher was even jailed for a while under his rule.

Apparently this rifle was designed for commercial production in mind, but it never took off,

it never went into production, only a few samples were made.

The anti gun mindset at the time was not favorable for any nonmilitary gun product.

No markings, year, manufacturer or anything written on the gun.

My gun is specimen #5, that is the only marking I could find stamped with only a single "5"

underside of the frame in front of the magazine well. The magazine was hand marked w. a 5

The only other specimen I am aware of is in the "Museum of Hungarian Agriculture"

in Budapest Hungary. I have seen this with my own eyes when I visited this museum in the 1980's

It was marked there as "Kucher hunting rifle"
