Here we have a fairly hard to find Mauser Model 1871 Cavalry Carbine. This was the standard rifle for mounted troops of the German Empire from 1871 (1876 technically was the cavalry carbine's introduction) until 1884 and was part of the first of the long line of successful Mauser designed rifles. This is a single shot rifle chambered in 11mm (.43) Mauser, and it stayed in service until the end of WW1. While it did not officially see frontline service, it stayed employed by various colonial troops across the German Empire.

This rifle was manufactured by Österreichischen Waffenfabriks-Gesellschaft in Steyr, Austria in 1877 and I believe it is unit marked to the Westfälisches Dragoner-Regiment Nr.7

Only ever fired pure lead, lighter (accuracy to 300m only, not the military "capability at range") black powder loads.

All numbers matching, down to the screw.
