Bosnia and Herzegovina M48 commercial sniper rifle, a post-war reproduction based on the Yugoslav M48 sniper rifle used during the conflict. This rifle follows the design of wartime modifications but is newly manufactured by state arsenals, ensuring the same level of build quality and craftsmanship. Unlike other commercial versions available on the European market that come with 6x or 8x scopes, this rifle is equipped with the original M76B scope, making it a more authentic representation of its wartime counterpart.

In the early 2000s, Century Arms imported two batches of original M48 rifles without scopes, while fully equipped, scope-mounted originals have since become astronomically expensive and nearly impossible to find. If you were to build one yourself, the cost of the scope and mount alone would be around 1,000 CAD, and finding a fully matching M48 with a bayonet would also cost approximately 1,000 CAD, not including other expenses and the time required for assembly. I acquired this rifle through a trade, exchanging a brand-new, all-matching 1908 Brazilian Mauser with a matching bayonet with a friend.

The stock appears to be walnut, which is uncommon for M48 rifles, making this an even rarer find.

It is common for the floorplate to be mismatched, but this is a well-documented phenomenon. The serial number discrepancy is minor, differing by only seven digits, likely due to a mix-up or assembly error at the factory during production. In fact, mismatched floorplates are rarer than fully matching rifles, adding to the uniqueness of this piece.

The rifle is in excellent condition, with strong rifling and a clear scope. There are small black specks on the lens, but they do not affect visibility. The tritium inserts on the side sights are missing, possibly removed due to legal requirements when imported into Canada.
