This Marlin Model 336 lever action rifle is chambered in .30-30. It features a 20-inch barrel (with JM stamp) and a gold trigger. The serial number is 2600XXXX, which dates this carbine to approximately 1974. The rifle is marked "Marlin Fire-Arms Co., New Haven, CT, U.S.A."
The mechanical and cycling operation of this rifle is in very good condition and tight. It is rated as very good to excellent overall. The rear sight has a "buck horn" design, and the bluing on the barrel is at 97%, showing no rust. The lever edges have developed a nice patina grey from handling, while the receiver retains 97.5% of its bluing. The bore is bright, shiny, and has good rifling. The wood is also in very good shape.
Overall, this is a very nice rifle and a rare find in such excellent condition for its age. **Condition: 9/10**
