Selling a Lee Enfield N.4 MK I mfg by Longbranch dated 1942. it has been fitted with a heavy 26" .308 free floated barrel d&t'd for sights with 1 in 12" twist. diameter at muzzle is .898" and is British Nitro proofed. bore is shiny and clean. I acquired this as a unfinished "project" but have no time.
it came to me with wearing a Weaver T09 scope mount that I discarded and replaced with a robust no drill side mount, I also installed the correct .308/7.62 x 51 extractor and checked the head space (bolt won't close on a no-go gauge). fired brass extracts well and looks good but won't feed from the mag and eject. mag has been modified for .308 but needs to be "tweaked" in order to feed or eject. currently runs as a single shot and you have to tilt the action to the right to clear the fired brass. stock has 1 1/4" sling swivels and a red rubber recoil pad installed, length of pull is 13 1/4".
