I have a 1943 dated Maltby built No 4 Mk 1 that was put through a Factory Thorough Repair (FTR) or rebuild post war. The rifle has been remarked No 4 Mk 1/3 as the result of the rebuild which hangs the trigger from the butt socket vs the trigger guard for improved trigger pull consistency. The rifle is in overall good condition with Receiver, Bolt and Magazine serial number matching. The five groove barrel is shiny and has no pitting
The furniture is in good condition with the forend having been altered from a No 4 Mk 1 style to fit the No 4 Mk 2 style of trigger hung on the receiver. The wood does not appear to be original to the rifle as the forend is a modified Long Branch part. There is a crossbolt installed across the rear stock tieplate which is in two pieces to accommodate the upgraded trigger.
Brass buttplate and Mark 1 rear sight installed. The barrel is a five groove in good condition, shiny with no pitting
Everything is complete and works as it should. Comes with a sling.
Shipping is additional.
