Hearing fair offers, if you’re looking for a cheaper Russian check my other ad for an all matching for a good price.
Good day,
Posting my Russian transitional period SKS, has all matching parts other than magazine and has quite a few distinctive features that indicates its a early 1950’s gun with carry over parts from the 1949 year of production. Unfortunately its lacking the matching magazine which is common, but the rest of the gun is matching. Left side pictures are the 1949-1950 and the right side is a standard russian.
-90° gas block, very unique feature that was changed after 1949 in 1950 and many refurbished guns lack this feature
-Arctic birch stock that is thicker and more robust, significantly nicer than a laminate but arsenal matched.
-Hand stamped production year and hand stamped star
-Blued bolt with simply designed extractor and interesting machining differences that are included in side by side pictures
-Spring loaded firing pin from factory, 1949 was the only year this was done from the little information I could find.
-Takedown lever is looped instead of bent sheet metal, much easier to disassemble the rifle and nice detail
The price is best offer, this is a unique rifle and can be an excellent piece to someone’s collection. There is very minor pitting on the exterior of the barrel and on top of the receiver cover as well as minor wear marks on high traffic areas. Beyond that this rifle is in great condition with sharp rifling.
Hearing fair offers, worst I can say is no. If you’re looking for a cheaper Russian check my other ad for an all matching for a good price. I can send additional pictures to a serious seller. Shipping available at the expense of the buyer.
