This is a very rare Mauser’s first smokeless rifle Belgian M1889 infantry rifle. Belgian troop equipped this rifle and resisted German army in 1914. So the M1889 is called “A rifle that saved Paris”. This veteran is not in mint condition but an honest war time soldier. It was built by FN, caliber 7.65 Mauser. Serial number on barrel sleeve, receiver and magazine are matching. Metal finish is in white. 2 dents on the barrel sleeve. Wood has numerous handling marks, one repair on left buttstock and another repair behind receiver on the rifle side. Stock cartouche and proof marks are clear visible. I haven’t shot it myself but it cycles well. Bore is clean, some shine with sharp rifling. See Flicker album for all details. Very rare and valuable historic piece. Asking $2600, shipping on buyer if needed.
