Here is another Civil War Joslyn Carbine model 1864, caliber .52 rimfire. There was about 16,500 Joslyn carbines made between 1862 and 1865. Issued to Union calvary troops as new breech loading weapons. This one has matching serial number on barrel lug and breech block. Metal in very good condition, no live rust or pitting. Factory markings are clear visible. Wood has some dings. Letters look like owner initial carved underneath. no crack or other major damage. Military inspection markings on the stock still visible. Buttplate marked “US”. I don’t have ammo for test shot but everything seems in good working order. Some pitting in the bore but rifling still clear. See Flicker album for all details. Very good piece of history and example of early breech loading rifles. Antique status, no PAL required but need 18+ proof. Asking $1700, shipping on buyer if needed.
