This is a hard to find origin Portuguese Vergueiro M1904 Mauser not been shortened or converted to 8mm Mauser. Origin rear sight not modified. Caliber 6.5*58mm. Some pitting along wood line but blue finish in good condition. No live rust I can find. Wood has a small end crack at the toe otherwise excellent. Stock cartouche still visible on buttstock. There is a D.M.G.L.M 301 carved on the wood indicates its service in east Africa during WWI allied with British against Germany. Serial number mismatched but bolt is self matching. I haven’t shot it but cycles well. Bore is a bit dark but rifling still strong. See Flicker album for details. Very rare model and records WWI history in African battlefield.
