In the early 1980’s INDEP, the Portuguese manufacturer of the HK G3 and HK 21 under license from Heckler & Koch, used German tooling and technical know-how to develop the LUSA SMG while borrowing features from both the MP5 and UZI.

The Lusa SMG was later developed into a semiauto only pistol variant, the Lusa A2 – the gun that I am selling here.

The complete trigger housing is nearly identical to that of the MP5, however the other internals are  simplified.

The Lusa fires from a closed bolt. The Lusa's barrel can be quickly changed without tools, like the UZI. The Lusa uses a non reciprocating ambidextrous charging handle.  The gun has a mag well that extends for a considerable length – no risk of creating malfunctions by gripping the mag. The Lusa uses its own 30 round magazine which is almost identical to a standard 32 round 9mm UZI magazine – so much so that it is easy to mod plentiful, cheap UZI mags to work flawlessly in the gun.

The gun comes with one factory mag. I can supply extra UZI mags at an additional cost.

Instead of using a roller delayed system, the gun is a blowback design,  This adds an insignificant amount to the weight but simplifies the design and, importantly, means you can load mags conventionally – with the bolt closed.

This gun comes with the original 6-inch barrel which can be swapped out – without tools – for an included 12-inch barrel. It is of course restricted, so to buy this you will need a restricted PAL. The package price here also includes a 19-inch 9mm barrel blank – so if you want you can have a gunsmith make this firearm non-restricted.

The package deal also includes the MP5K-type stockless receiver end and a fitted aftermarket HK fixed stock. There is also an aftermarket folding stock included – but it still needs minor adjustments to fit.

As shown in the pictures, the gun has its factory fixed sights plus a barrel mounted red dot. The latter is WAY better than the manufacturer's unavailable rib or an MP5 claw mount because it puts the scope low – where it should be.

Obviously, you will probably never see a package like this in Canada again.
