Je parle français, description plus loin.
1980s production I believe. Fun gun to shoot but I just don't use it any more. Surprisingly accurate. Very lightly used for the last few years since I've had it. Reliable. Looks a little rough around the edges but is in very good shape.
The bundle includes:
Complete original AR7 rifle with original magazine and stock.
Custom stock made by yours truly (see notes).
1/2-28 threaded barrel adapter.
NcStar scope 4x.
One-piece scope mount (see notes).
2 extra Henry magazines (see notes).
Barrel mounted picatinny rail (see notes).
Fore grip.
Laser sight (see notes).
LED flashlight.
Trigger lock.
Lightweight sling from travel bag.
Notes:
The custom stock is homemade but solid and functional. It still needs a coat of paint. The 2 Henry mags are NOT identical to the original - the hole for the latch in the mags are half a millimetre higher and this causes feeding issues. I just apply pressure from underneath to solve the problem - a permanent fix (adjusting the hole) could be tricky, but doable. Charter Arms did not make a usable dovetail on the receiver top, it has vertical edges. With a dremel I cut a small groove either side to clamp the scope mount. And it works fine. The laser sight is a cheap no-name thing. It works, but the switch is a bit dodgy. There may be a way to tighten the connection. The flashlight is standard Canadian Tire :-) I cut off the top rail from the barrel mount so as to be able to use the open sights. The trigger mechanism is a rudimentary, lightweight AR concept which can have an issue - it's possible to fire two shots with one pull of the trigger. This has happened on a couple of occasions in winter when wearing gloves. Maybe it was the shooter. This rifle was not designed for intensive use. It is a lightweight design for survival purposes.
Merci !
