Hi,
For your consideration is a Kar98k, manufactured in Borsigwalde, Germany in 1943.
This rifle bears a Star of David on its receiver, denoting service with the Haganah and subsequently the IDF. Dirty birds are obliterated, as most were defaced by Israeli service members who were issued these rifles.
The bolt body and the receiver are matching, the rest of the rifle is mismatched, as is the case with most post-war Czech refurbs.
Rifle seems to have been professionally repaired under the grip. Rifling is fair, the crown is however pitted and is slightly deformed at its surface. I decided against counter-boring it in order to preserve its historical value.
There is a crack at the tang and a small one at the recoil lug. I would recommend a proper bedding and stock repair be done before using this rifle.
Most of these rifles were later converted to 7.62 NATO, however I tested this one with 8mm Mauser Snap Caps and it feeds and ejects without issue.
Asking $1300, will come with 5 stripper clips. Also available are an original Kar98k cleaning kit for $100 and 2 cleaning rods for $35 each.
Local sale only, possible trade +/- cash for other milsurp rifles, mainly looking for Norwegian K98kF1 in 30-06, K43, authentic Mosin PU, M1 Garand, Gewehr 98, VZ-52, AG-42, other than that try your trades.
