This is a Marlin 30AS in very good condition with an upgraded Boyds walnut stock. The difference between the 30AS and the 336 was the stock material and buckhorn sights.
There is a small crack in the stock just at the tang adjacent to the hammer. Seen in picture.
The serial number dates it as a 1992 manufactured rifle.
