Navy Arms Remington Rolling Block 45-70

Early Navy Arms  (Ridgefield New Jersey USA & David Pedersoli) in very good overall condition. This is a very stout build, strong action with a very decent trigger. Original rear sight replaced with long range tang sight before my time. Some slight pitting in the bore, likely due to black powder use, but lands & grooves are sharp and well defined. I have shot this rifle using a 470gr “Schmitzer” and found accuracy out to 400 yards very good. The installation of the tang sight could have been better as it has slight side play if the screws become loose, but when adjusted and tightened down, the sight works just fine. Accuracy with modern jacketed bullets is just fine, but I find paper patched bullets the best in these rifles. This is a nice solid rifle, great conversation piece and can come with some ammunition for the right price.   Would consider trades for a lever action 45-70 ( longer barrel preferred) or Bergara bolt action rifle.    *bipod not included.
