MAUSER Siamese Model 1903 (type 45) - Tokyo Arsenal

This is a splendid rifle, a must in any comprehensive Mauser lineup. Mauser design manufactured under contract with the reputed Tokyo Arsenal at the beginning of the 20th century. Because of the very damp tropical climate in the Kingdom of Siam (Thailand), the wood has aged to a very nice texture, perhaps because of the special essence of wood that was chosen (teak ?). See accurate description on page 356 of the Mauser Milirary rifles of the World (R.W.D. Ball, 4th Edition).

This sample an early one : s/n 98. It was professionally restored under the supervision of Wolfgang Adlhoch in Waterloo, QC, during a special 5 days course he gave to a few collectors back in the winter of 2017. It was my restoration project during that course and I personally did all steps. The result is amazing because we had access to all of Wolfgang’s special tooling and because of the restoration philosophy he promotes: restoring while preserving the "personality" of what's in your hands. (What do I have here?  What am I NOT going to change... etc.)

It comes with an original bayo and the sliding protective cover over the action. Calibre is 8x50mm Siamese rimmed. 950$ or best offer.
