For 2490 you get the closest rifle to an ar15 we have gotten since they were baned. This rifle has become arguably the most reliable, and easily customizable rifle available in canada as it will take readily available ar accesories and parts. The only real difference is that the rifles magwell takes proprietary magazines but with a little bit of research and initiative you can modify the magwell to except standard ar15 mags. Which is legal just as you would change/modify the magwell to take a different mag on an sks, pc9 or one of many other rifles. Over time you can upgrade internals to create your dream rifle by using at parts. For those concerned that this rifle will be banned aswell
