Karabiner model 1871, manufacturer of 1876. 11.15x60mmR (43 mauser). Adopted for use by cavalry units. Not to be mistaken for the Infanterie-Gewehr 71. Purpose built carbine, In very nice original condition, apart from the forend of the stock being cut down. All numbers matching. Nice patina, no rust or pitting. Wood and finish is in great shape. Works as it should. Very hard to come by.
