This is a Spanish AYA 107-LI that was modified for the German market in the early 1970s, and sold as the Sauer-AYA Model VIII. This side by side has blued chopper lump/demi-bloc barrels of Krupp steel choked half and full, extractors and 28” barrels with a solid raised rib, front and mid beads, and is drilled and tapped on underside (unused) for a sling swivel mount. This boxlock is scalloped on the sides and top of the beautifully colour case hardened receiver, and features a Greener crossbolt with double Purdey underlocking lugs, side clips (ears on the fences of the receiver), high matted top rib, lateral cocking indicators, double triggers and very tasteful Arabesque engraving. Both the splinter forearm (colour case hardened Deeley lever release) and pistol grip buttstock (left cheekpiece, nicely fitted butt spacer and Trapdude recoil pad, unused sling mount with original filler screw), feature original wood finish, no oil bleed or cracks and clean checkering.  Weighs approx. 6.5 lbs. 14-3/8” LOP

This gun presents very well, with very strong case colouring all around, unmarred screw slots, tight lockup, beautiful bluing on the barrels that chime when struck, and bores that gleam on inspection. All numbers match, lever is well right of centre, metal shows no rust, freckling or pitting, and the wood only shows small handling marks in the buttstock as befitting a 50+ year old gun.
