WWI German Navy Sword

This is an original World War I German Navy sword. It is in fair condition. I believe this sword was manufactured later in the war because it has a cheaper celluloid grip that has deteriorated. It is a struggle to sheath, as the leather has shrunk. With a little effort, it should clean up decently. The best part is that the sword is inscribed with the name of the original owner on the folding guard.  This would make an interesting research project for someone.
