This Webley Mk 3 chambered in .45 ACP and .455 Webley/.476 Eley is a reliable and excellent sidearm. Webley Mk. 1s were the first mass-produced British guns, starting with 10000 ordered by the British army in 1887. The Mk 3 models had modified grips, better hammers (perfect for cocking while riding a horse!), and different blast shields, as well as better steel. This is a commercial (not service) model, privately retailed by Charles Rosson of 4 Market Head, Derby, Great Britain as marked on the top strap. As an antique, this requires no PAL, registration, or headaches to own.
Webley produced high quality guns, and this is no exception. It shoots reliably in DA and SA with steady lockup and mechanics. Very minor wiggle room in the cylinder and a flawless ejector and top break operation. The cylinder spins smoothly.
The appearance is pleasant, with a shiny surface still showing original factory polishing patterns, and strong rifling. It reads "MARK III", "WEBLEYS / PATENTS" and the caliber .455/.476 along with the Webley and Sons winged bullet logo on the left side, with many proofs and inspector marks including crown/NP on the barrel and cylinders, and all matching serials 7XXX. Can get more pics upon request. Authentic leather repro Webley holster $75 extra.
